Published by Readex (a subdivision of Newsbank, one of the larger news archives to date), ‘Daily Reports’ is the online version of part of Readex’s FBIS archive, covering news events that occurred between 1974 and 1996 from a foreign perspective. The archive itself consists of foreign media reports, and as such provides a detailed look at how various events in modern history were interpreted across the world. Given the breadth and specificity of its material, these ‘Daily Reports’ are indispensable for gaining a more nuanced understanding of how foreign governments & societies interpret the world around them. Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO)
Columbia International Affairs Online is a sprawling database, comprised of more than 500,000 pages that span topics from international politics to development studies. Given the enormity of its collection, the diversity of its contents should hardly be surprising - consisting of everything from policy briefs to e-books and videos. The database is geared towards a primarily academic & research-oriented audience, although it is careful not to exclude practitioners from its clientele.
